This is the next most common question ask by our customers. Can the Jerry Cans be used to sort drinking water or fish tank water?
The answer is YES for Brand NEW Jerry Cans. Because the Jerry Cans are designed to contain chemicals suitable for HDPE as well as food products such as soya sauce, chilli sauce, etc. So it’s absolutely safe to use brand NEW Jerry Cans to store drinking water and fish tank water.
Usually people tend to reuse the Jerry Cans. After use, please rinse with clean water and let it dry to prevent bacteria growth. You won’t want to have a bad stomach or tank or floating fishes. Just remember to clean and rinse and you and your fishes be fine.
Salt water is fine for the Jerry Can as well. If you notice the plastic degrades, dispose and buy a new one. It’s not worth saving on the small money for the precious marine plants and fishes.
